How To Get Rid Of Those Cavity Creeps

No one wants cavities, but they are often hard to prevent. We get them every day. And once we get a toothache it’s time to visit the dentist for a filling. But what if there was a way for you to treat cavities in your own home? There are. And you probably have them sitting in your pantry.

As your tooth decays, a hole will develop. This is called a cavity. Lots of things can cause them, but a proper dental routine is key to staving off all dental issues. And cavities aren’t exactly painful when they begin to develop. That’s why it is important to brush and floss every day, in combination with dental visits. Because if they get worse, you will begin to feel a toothache and certain foods will cause them to feel sensitive and/or painful. So, while you wait for your dental appointment, try these quick remedies:

  • Clove. Cloves is one of the best remedies because of their anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Applying this quick homemade solution will help ease the pain and further stop the spreading. Mix ¼ tsp of sesame oil with 3 drops of clove oil, apply three drops onto a cotton ball and apply to the sore tooth before bed.
  • Salt. Similar to clove, salt help ease pain and inflammation but also puts a kibosh on the bacteria that caused the cavity in the first place. Dissolve a tsp of salt in a glass of warm water and swish for a minute three times a day.
